November

Ring down this gaudy curtain

this kitschy finale wearies me

Away with your rainbow leaves

and leave the stage

November’s creeping tread

Gentle in the coming

Welcome pall bearer, do your duty

Lay to rest the dying days

Spare the Hawthorn berries

On tangled tresses

Give them leave to linger

for a little while

Let the feather brethren

Search for warmer climes

Leaving the cooling skies

To the wanderers wing

Let loose the north wind

Besom brush the autumn clutter

Make ready the wetlands

For the sleeping time

this reminds me of W. H. Auden style.
in fact it reminds of his famous piece
'' stop all the clocks...''

it is a very nice beautiful piece i enjoyed it :)

I liked it too Carousel. Although it's spring here, your poem was rich with imagery. Thanks
