I would propose to you
In Sutton library
Surrounded by books
I'd pick one at random
And read a romantic line
To get you in the mood perhaps?
If you declined
I could sit in my usual spot
And read my favourite book

It might have been beneficial to have gone for six minutes...

Do we need "St. Nicolas Way? We have "Sutton library," which is sufficient.

There are rather too many repetitions of book. I'd excise it from L4: "I'd pick one at random" would be much better here, as the previous line provides the context.

I'm not sure what to do about the last line, though. As a line it's fine, but in such a short piece the repetition of such a punchy word does jar rather. I think, perhaps, you might try "novel" here instead.

Fidelity as a woodland animal

Fidelity would not be a skunk
It would not stink
It would be a deer
Its fragrance musk
The sweet scent of fidelity
It's true dear

Thanks for your comments Hawkman. It was a 5 minute exercise in a poetry workshop.
