I wanted to take a moment to offer up a tardy recognition of the passing of the great Richard Kiel; Hollywood’s 7 foot – 5 inch gentle giant. Kiel passed on to the next plane September 10, 2014.

Who could ever forget such memorable characters portrayed by Kiel such as “Jaws” in James Bond The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, “Kanamit” in the Twilight Zone episode; To Serve Man, Dr. Lovelace’ towering companion “Voltaire” in “The Wild Wild West” tv series.

Hmm, I see a few puzzled looks among the peanut gallery. Okay, then how about my two favorite characters; “Mr. Larson” in Happy Gilmore who took a 16 penny nail to the head from Gilmore’s nail gun and delivered the greatest line in cinematic history; “I will get you Shooter…be still” as he and the Gilmore mob chased Shooter down, eventually beating him to a pulp.

What the heck, where’ve you people been? Okay, certainly you remember Kiel’s lead role as “Eegah” in “Eegah”…nothing short of brilliance.

After watching the trailer, I don't remember Eegah, but Kiel was tall enough to be one of those sasquatch guys. I do remember Happy Gilmore.
