Hi all,

I am looking for exact word counts of some books I own in print, and of which editable copies and pdfs are not legally available.
Is there any way to obtain the data without bruising the legal boundaries?

Thank you very much,

Rafe

You can do it on amazon but damned if i know the proper way heres what it says but i can't get it to work
http://ask.metafilter.com/207434/How-to-use-Amazons-Text-Stats
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=help_search_1-1?ie=UTF8&nodeId=10197041&qid=1413142464&sr=1-1

But i CAN get it to work MANUALLY, i took this link for the stats on Enders Game from a link above
http://www.amazon.com/Enders-Game-Orson-Scott-Card/dp/sitb-next/0765342294/ref=sbx_txt#textstats

I searched for a book i wanted, House of Leaves
http://www.amazon.com/House-Leaves-Mark-Z-Danielewski/dp/0375703764/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1413142557&sr=1-1&keywords=house+of+leaves

then replaced the name and number from House of leaves into the enders game link resulting in this
http://www.amazon.com/House-Leaves-Mark-Z-Danielewski/dp/sitb-next/0375703764/ref=sbx_txt#textstats

not exactly user friendly but it works ;) .

You can try www.arbookfind.com/default.aspx and enter the book into the search bar. It is a website to find accelerated reader books for students, teachers, and parents, but clicking each book lists the word count.

Check the publisher.
