Through You
darling, you’re a fever.
hidden by the waves
and the shores are your
burning temperance,
a piece of lipgloss you
never could wash off.
a thirst i crave, a
hunger i envy.


Chapped
do poems rot
and decay with
time, for the
insects? —-

are we the
sole contributors
of something
more than words?
are we a satiated
hunger for the
chattering teeth
that bite the
dead and
cold?

Make-Believe
the road of memories
is more often traveled,
the road we take whenever
we don’t want anything
to change, we want it’s
perfection in an unchanging
alternate universe, to carry
it in our palms and whisper
uncertainties to a picture
that painted itself, to check
all sides to make sure no one
is the liar but us.

Plague
food sits in the corner
like a rotting mess,
turning my stomach
before i can even
grow an appetite.
a camera, unused
rests idly in the
window sill, expecting
nothing. i let the
whiskey bottle
empty itself, and
not a lot of people
come around any
more.
