can you help me to find the exact meaning of this sentence:
there is in those parts to be had three or fowre thousand horses lading, every horse [loade
being 50 to 60 batmans, beside silke of Georgia]
this sentence is from a book written ca. 1550 by an English traveler. I have especially problem with the sentence in []

In those areas, you can find three to four thousand horses, carrying cargo; each horse [the weight of the cargo being 385 to 462 kilos, beside the silk from Georgia ]
