Fundamental Readings

I have been getting more interested in philosophy recently, but more importantly, I have been getting better at being able to read and understand philosophical books and essays. I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a few books that would give me a good fundamental understanding of different aspects of philosophy, such as epistemology and ontology (or anything else you may want to recommend).
