I walked into the virgin, summer meadow
My shadow as green as the svelte carpet
Figment of winter shedding melancholy ice sickles
Opaque skin a veil to the sun's, beaming eyes
Hiding Fall's, fallen leaves; life's rotting stems
Ears hollow reeds filtering the wind's, blithe notes
Releasing the solitary requiem that haunted winter's, dark nights
Dancing through the twirling dandelions
As carefree as the listless pinwheels
Mind as translucent as the feather quills
A sieve straining the sorrows of Autumn
