Just wondering if anyone has read much John Moriarty, and if so what you think of his work. I am reading the Moriarty Reader (edited Brendan O'donoghue), and am pretty disappointed with it so far. Was expecting great things from the reviews I have read, but so far feel a bit cheated — he seems to have one or two ideas which he endlessly dresses up in various mystical and mythological trappings and repeats, and not even that well or interestingly as far as I can see. I'm beginning to think it is the most overrated thing I have ever read. Am I missing something?
