The Rise Of The Prophet Venia: Part One.
Prelude
The air stood still on a star-filled sky as the prophet Venia glared up at the full moon pondering about the incursion on the lands known as 'Relinquo'.
One
Venia feared for his people, ever since the Carus contacted Venia and freed his people from slavery and death, the Carus had offered solace and warm tidings towards Venia and his people. The Carus proposed salvation and safe travel to a new homeland and for that Venia was eternally grateful. As the Carus was ushering the prophet and his people, the Carus took Venia to distant lands until finally they stumbled upon the luscious green fertile lands of 'Portus'.
Centuries passed and life ran it's course, the farmland was fertile, the hunt was always plentiful in it's plunder and life for Venia and all of his people was peaceful, the way he foresaw. Venia would often share thoughts with the Carus, he would visit the shrine that he made for them every day and discuss personal matters and thoughts for improvements towards his society and most of all, to assure each life was precious, sacred and meaningful.
Venia was discussing private matters with the sacred Carus, when Venia's long term friend and right hand man Fortis stormed the room with urgent news. "My lord!" Fortis exclaimed."Speak my child" Venia replied in a peaceful manner."The Trolls! they come for our land!' Fortis spoke in a fear struck voice. With no clear hesitation Venia replied softly by saying "Man the cannons and prepare the troops."
The Trolls were an ancient enemy of Venia and his people. In times past the trolls would trade with Venia and often times the trolls chieftain known as 'Improbus' would share sacred stories of the ancients and how the land came to be. Venia enjoyed the trolls company, although they seemed aggressive and ill mannered Venia knew they were an honourable and proud people. Venia treasured these moments as it gave him insight into the Troll's secretive way of life.
However, now the Trolls became vicious and hateful towards Venia. From when there was once mutual respect there was now nothing more than hate and regular assaults. The Trolls would often send hunting packs near the edge of Venia's city, the Trolls thought this was strategic because what seemed to be a feeble hunting party turned into a small scale attack. Of course Venia's people would be victorious however, this was not what Improbus was planning. Improbus came across as a vindictive merciless killer. However, Venia knew otherwise, Venia saw Improbus as a tactical mastermind and he knew that the only reason Improbus was sending small attack parties was because he was searching for a weak spot, impressive yet easy to read...
Unlike most attacks, todays attack was full scale. Thousands of Troll infantries rushed the gates of Aedis, Venia's sacred city. Giant Ogres thrashed at the gates of Aedis, while Venia's archers rained arrows upon the futile enemy. Many of Venia's soldiers was falling and the Trolls war effort was becoming increasingly more powerful, Venia struggled to heal the wounded, there was not enough troops. The Trolls were breaking the baracade on the front gates of Aedis down. Venia knew this vision all too well, with a crushing blow the gates of Aedis fell. The Trolls were now pillaging the sacred roads of where gods onced walked, no child, mother or elder was safe. The Trolls were out for blood. With swift pace the Trolls chieftain Improbus ran swiftly up the vieled stairs of the Aedis towards the Carus' shrine. Improbus rushed into the altar With the scent of Venia fresh in his nostrils. As Improbus and his army rushed the barricaded throne room, and broke down the door with great strength. "Where is he?" Improbus snarled. "My chieftain, a secret passage this way" the Troll captain hissed. "Follow it, NOW!" Improbus screamed with a gut-wrenching effect. The Trolls followed the passage to find Venia and his low population of followers boarding the Carus' mothership.
"Come back and fight, in the name of honour!" Improbus howled at the Carus' mothership which was now ascending deep into the night sky. Venia smiled as he knew he had saved his people once again from their imminent demise. Venia knew he would have to search for a new homeland, thus making him and his people nomadic again.
