This is a poem I wrote one day when I was feeling particularly 'homesick'. I have fallen in love with another country that I am in the process of planning to move to. I feel more at home there, than I do here in the country of my birth, which is ridiculous really when you think about it, but I have some how never felt particularly attached to the country of my birth.
My Heart Yearns For Home
When I look upon your distant shores
my heart yearns for home
even though my foot has never set
itself upon your fields
my heart yearns for home
I can not place the moment when
this transformation occurred
but your soaring vistas
snatched my breath and stole my heart
now I long for home.

thank you - I certainly felt very emotional when I wrote it and still feel that way. Some days are worse than others but the pull to be there rather than here is still very strong.

Its the only way I can write, poetry especially but prose as well. If I'm not feeling it, not in the moment, I can write functional prose but the magic is missing. At least IMO.

I make myself although i may not always write to my best i still go on writing everyday
i have many unfinished nonsensical pieces
sometimes i just want to write for the sound of it
poetry is intricate but never tricky
the idea is to go with it and see where it takes you even if it is not perfect.
