When I met you I never knew you’d have such a significant part in my life. Every word you uttered changed me to be a better man. All your insight led me to be the best person I could be.
We sat next to each other at every chance we got, staring into each other’s eyes just talking, speaking wonderful words of wisdom each of us had to share. I couldn’t help but kiss you, your soft beautiful lips made to fit mine, made to make me feel alive.
Every day I spent with you, and every night you were in my arms while I watched you sleep. Plans were made to see Paris, and the world. My favourite travel companion, without ever having left home.
We had candle lit dinners, and cried with each other when our favourite characters died, hoping that the ends of our lives could only be so significant to someone else.
I gave you the mausoleum of hope and desire, not so you could keep time but forget it. You gave me Chesil Beach, and other beautiful words that expressed exactly what we felt. Expressed exactly what we thought when we looked at each other.
Then I lost you, I put you down and would never be able to pick you back up. You slipped through my grasps at the height of our infatuation, and you’d never be seen again. The world we’d created was lost to the ages.
I was alone watching the sun rise, knowing there was no point if I couldn’t watch it set with you.
