on my sweating window pane
shades of night remain
a brown moth now erudite
glittering figment of the dark night
billowy kite that soared overhead
ferrying electric blades that swiped
morphing into a placid stamp
glued to my window sill
silhouette that spited my foggy lens
now shares dawn's bright dividend
his lingering presence no allure
once glowing pendant
a dingy plaid fan with
ruffled mast fully unfurled

I like the imagery in this a lot. Most definitely summons strong images + sense of place. I think possibly there are too many adjectives...could be just my reading though. Great work!

The title caught my attention right away. I savor a certain fascination with moths. I thought the poem was wonderfully descriptive, and I love the images it conjured up in my mind.

Thanks for your comments, Fantods 1. I agree that it is descriptive to the max. I might wean one or two adjectives. I like the vivid images of night. I think in this particular poem they were juxtaposed to the dull forms of day.

Thank you for stopping by, Dark Muse, and savoring the nocturnal trappings that belie your moniker. I like to watch the glittering lamp shades of the moths as well.
