Hello! Having joined this forum quite a few days ago, the temptation to extend a hand of comradeship to you worthy aficionados of English Literature gained the upper hand & i couldn't resist posting an introduction.
I hail from India and am a Bachelor's level student of Literature enrolled in a state-run varsity. Because of my non collegiate status I can avail plenty of liberty & hours to study beyond the minuscule syllabus them university guys have drawn up. That leaves my study hours with plenty of room to interact with the members of this forum and to benefit from a seasoned & diverse range of perspective they may have to offer. As can be judged with ease, my english may get a tad too lowly for ur liking. It's my humble request therefore, that necessary corrections be made with candour whenever I commit a mistake lest cases of meta~communication spring up.

Welcome, RitwijM! Sometimes my English doesn't meet the standards of the grammar police either. Then I read something like James Joyce's "Finnegan's Wake" and I wonder whether there are any standards.

Thank you YesNo ! Sloppiness is a mainstay in most forms of art. That's probably the reason why 'standards' in english grammar are not that much of a mandate if feel & expression are all you are after.
