WMW for short
this is in riposte of the movie:
what women want
women seem to think they have the upper hand most of the time but are they doing it right>??
I say no and I am a woman myself.

so come on men what is it that you really really want assuming women in general do not seem to know what men are about and I am a woman.
I hear women expect men to be a certain way and yet many do not understand or try to understand them.
is it fair to say that men are misunderstood and women overstood?

I say yes. it is about time women got their brain in gear and start thinking a liitle better and faster. ;) :D

It's a relief to know that you won't be saying anytyhing like this:

'When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile
at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt.
It's going to be decisive.'

"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."

These are the kinds of things Bush is likely to be best remembered for (outside of the Iraq war).

Anyway, what I think men expect women to be is happy. Or as George might have said, but I don't think he ever did, "Women is best when they take wing and smile."

Back on topic! As a man, there are a few things I want.

1) Immortal fame in one or many regions of the arts.
2) A girlfriend.

Not necessarily in that order.

qimissung

For some reason I always thought you were female, Lykren, lol. Its kind of interestng to try to figure out gender from relatively anonymous posts, I think.

As to what men want, I can't really presume to know. To make a sweeping generalization, I think they look for a degree of authority (i.e. power) and, erm, sex. Not very original, but there it is.

It isn't so much a matter of what men want or what women want. It's more about what we are programmed to want in our genes. There is a fundamental desire to reproduce; although that has dissipated with the excess in population. Exactly how that plays out varies from person to person. Men are much more direct, and most women act as if reproduction is the last thing they want, but they often play a chess game that is designed to corner a man; checkmate. It isn't that I mind, but I would prefer if some women were less insistent on playing their game' I'm perfectly willing to surrender.

We men want lost kittens to take care of, and we want strong amazons to care of us. We want innocence and we want sexy. We want quiet and we want vivaciousness. We want someone who is independent, and someone who depends on us. We want a free spirit, and we want someone who has her head on straight. We want intelligence, but we certainly don't want someone who is smarter than us. We all want Marilyn Monroe - most of us want to marry her, and those of us who do usually come to regard it as a mistake. So I guess we can sum it up best by saying that we men don't know what we want.

The truth is that women have the upper hand (for the most part), and women run most of what goes on in the world, but let's continue to keep it a secret. The women who are smart like things just as they are, because it keeps the women on top and gives most men the false impression that they are in charge.

It's not as simple as 'women want...' and 'men want...' which I think is part of the problem, people trying to fit into set ideals of what each gender should be like/want etc. Each person is an individual and should be approached as such.

It's to-do list, that is a list of things you have to do today, except it is written by your girlfriend or wife as if she were saying, "Honey, do this or that today." So as not to appear sexist, I'll entertain the idea that men might conceivable make such lists for women to do as well.

Reasonable things to put on such a list are:

1) Fix the clogged garbage disposal.
2) Bring in the mail.
3) Kill the dragon.

Any decent man would do these without needing to be asked. Other things that can get on the list are more questionable:

4) Don't even think of wearing that shirt with those jeans.
5) Substitute broccoli for the fries (chips) when ordering your hamburger.
6) Kill the spider crawling on the ceiling.

Those lists, cacian, are rarely written down and given to the boyfriends. That might help matters. An item gets on the list by being mentioned or thought by the girlfriend.

Here's what this man wants...

To be pulled in my Airstream sledge across February snow through the Weminuche Wilderness by a team of seven stout, corn fed women. As the sun settles behind Rio Grande Pyramid, we set camp along Ute Creek. A fire is prepared for me using juniper and pinyon from the south. As I warm my mukluks, two from the team will heat up some drambuie in a cast iron pot suspended from a cooking tripod made of Aspen, two head down to the river and noodle for trout, two will pitch the tent and the seventh will do covers of John Denver and Merle Haggard on a balalaika. After we sip, sup and sing, all will repair to an open meadow to feast on desert of wild strawberries and count the stars in the Milky Way.

In the tent I’ll watch Yul Brynner and the Magnificent Seven…

I was certain the "Airstream sledge" would stump you; not "covers" and picking strawberries for desert.
"covers" = someone's rendition or variation on another artist's work.
for example here's Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson "covering" the song Pancho and Lefty originally penned and performed by the late Townes Van Zandt

I agree photo projection/reflection onto what one has taken into frame and being in it but not with it is a concept worth looking into. a selfiless picture.
