Standing here
without a chair,
I'm turning the handle
slowly
through the rollers.
Bit by bit.
Till all that I know
Has been wrung
And every single drop
Is now gone.
I'll unplug the elements
Then just peg out
While the grey murky
Water cools.
Bit by bit.
And finally
When it's all done,
There'll be no need for
My giant wooden spoon.
