how do you define rude?
or what does rude mean to you?

The rudest thing I can imagine is arching floods without so much as a "please" or "thank you". It's practically abusive. Ralph Waldo Emerson evidently agrees with me, having written:

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world.

I mean, how would you like it if you were a flood? Maybe you're thinking, "Ha, ha! I'm impassible! I'm a mighty flood!" Then, without so much as a "by your leave", you find yourself arched by a puny, man made bridge. It wouldn't be much fun, would it? Rude, rude behavior!

Ecurb that is a brilliant quote form Ralph Waldo.
I don't know however the expression:
arching floods?
what do you mean by that?
I did look up it and got this:

Rude means primitive, plain, ordinary, simple, but "rude" usually points towards that less pleasant aspects of those things. The bridge mentioned is a simple, arched, stone bridge over the Concord River. Its simplicity makes it rude.

Rude also means impolite, unrefined, crude, etc.
