(for Nils Frahm)
Pocket evening
Electric piano tunes
dripping and cascading
into twilight silence
Sugar teardrops
I’d never dream
of weeping
Salty rain
I’d crave
to get soaked in
I stop doing
what I’m doing
I don’t think
don’t even breathe
and listen
just listen
With my ears
my closed eyes
my skin
my mind
Note-pearls
bead after bead
prickle through
then swell to tides
then echo inside
my skull and chest
touching my
inner bells
(check out: Nils Frahm, *1982, German composer and musician)

Looked up Nils Frahm… appreciated the play on "inner bells", nice touch! "Chest" might be a better word than "breast". Echoes work better in a chest cavity than breast which actually distracts from your own music created through these words.

thanks, haunted, glad you caught the drift. did you like the music, though? I simply fell in love with the guy… check out the longer videos, maybe, where he improvises on stage… he will be my musical program for today.
Discovered him yesterday by accident, and wrote the poem above in 5 minutes without editing. So I'm glad you gave it a thorough read and found the right word. I didn't like "breast" but was so caught up in the momentum of listening and writing that I couldn't find a better one.

Just listened to one of his pieces. Not the Bells, but the sound is definitely distinctive, and you described it to a T. I didn't get what "pocket evening" is, but the rest is expressive. When you said you just discovered him and wrote this in 5 minutes, I was thinking, YES, cos it happened to me too! It was a song by Pat Monahan. I posted it in my thread before, I'll post it here again for you.
stay with me
he sez something
I ignore him
it’s late and I wanna sleep
and then he sings
like his life depends on it
that gets my attention
my full attention
I turn up the volume
slowly I lie back on the floor
my eyes fixating on him
he steps out of the plasma screen
throws his head down
now he's almost over me
stay with me he says
his fists tighten
the mike screams
but he screams louder
stay stay stay with me
pleeeease stay
stay with me
he’s relentless
I'm feeling helpless
staaaay with me he sings
I melt in the music
I’m a puddle
of warm chocolate fudge
flowing towards his feet
