is there such a thing?
I personally think it is up to the chemist to dispense drugs but to a person to dispense a feeling.
any thoughts?

It seems like there should be something physical or chemical between people when they are attracted to each other, but I don't think it determines those feelings. It might actually be the opposite. The feelings might be what cause those chemical changes in the body.

Good question, cacian. I wish I knew the answer. Do we like the chemistry produced in our body when, for instance, we are attracted to another person, or we like the person and then the likable chemistry in our body is generated?

I think chemicals detract and cause an advert reaction normally hence the word.
I am not sure attraction is chemical but more reciprocal ie feelings and looks play the role of matching people together.

But I think that's more of a romantic view of human emotions.
We are only biology, a wonderful cocktail of particles and chemistry... we feel a certain way for someone, and it consumes us; we give a name for it and say it's Love, but that is so arbitrary isn't it?.. our heart has nothing to say in the matter, it is a blood pump and little more. Our brains release this and that, and we feel this or that, a trick of evolution. But a trick that makes life worth living.

Everything that goes on in humans is internally communicated and mediated by chemicals. Part of attraction between humans is chemical in nature; scent is very important in attraction, even if you are unscented. Neurotransmitters are more involved in attraction than the heart or any poetic expressions.
