are we natural born perfectionist?
we seek beauty and so we hound to perfect in order to achieve it.
or
are we the opposite just vulgar inside and so we feel we must polish the outside to appease the inside?
what is perfection?
please discuss.

To me, aesthetic perfection is always ugly... however, I do have I pretty nice butt. Tight as a drum. It's not perfect, but damn close.:)

Sure, but it's difficult to explain.
The closer something is to aesthetically perfect, the less corrupt it is.
To me the beauty is in the imperfections, how nature and chance, and time, corrupt both people and things. To me, it's not just that perfection is unnatural, it is an obscenity.
A woman might go to a plastic surgeon and request a more desirable nose or perfect breasts; but to me, the nose she had with a bump, and her eyeglasses sat a bit uneasy, that is the nose I appreciate more. As for her breasts... well alright, I'm no fanatic... boob jobs are okay in my book.:)

haha I see little imperfections go a long way. it is true plastic surgery does deform rather then perfect.
I feel plastic surgery can appear to look like a form of self abuse. some people you see are painful to look at.

Now I feel I must be honest here, in that I have had three plastic surgery operations on my nose. It was as a result of a bad motorcycle accident, and the first two operations would be considered "reconstructive" surgery... but the third operation was touchup, and was out of sheer vanity.:)

that is honest surgery and so when needed it must. accidents do happen and sorry to h ear about yours.
vanity is a sweet because it tells us we must try and look our best. :)
nothing wrong with vanity.

Perfection is a state from which improvement is impossible. At each moment we are perfect, because instantaneous improvement is impossible.
So, yes, you are perfect, but perfection for you is different from perfection for me. As you noted, different people seek different sorts of perfection. The ideal is determned by DNA, so it varies.

Thanks... but I still I wish I had my old nose back.:)
Thankfully though, the plastic surgeon who patched me back together was very talented.

I am glad that you feel, internally, as if you are in a state that can not be improved upon, or that nothing could be better than you.

well if you think internal perfection is something everyone ought to work on. aesthetic is already achieved but the end result seems to get worse the more one fiddles and polishes with the exterior. It looks unnatural and deformed. Botox for example is a tragic look. so I think we ought to concentrate on perfection the inside so that when we look at ourselves we feel better from the outside. that is the logical step.:)

No, I think that internal perfection is something that everyone already has. Mucking around with one's physical appearance is usually a mise, because most people look like what they are, even if they happen to think that their appearances need improvement. But we agree on how to handle one's exterior; don't mess with it. :)
