The Talking Tree
The beams of the sun ran through the tall trees as the lumberjack stepped out of his small cabin.
„Ahhh“ the lumberjack said as he stretched his arms.
This is a fine day, he thought too himself as he grapped his axe and then walked over too his horse which he lead upon a path leading into the forest. As they followed the path the lumberjack listened too the song of the forest as he liked to call the combination of the birds singing, the wind blowing through the trees, the water running trough nearby in a small river and the numerous other sounds the forest made. The lumberjack had walked through this path so many times he figured he knew every sound the forest made, but after a short while the lumberjack heard a unfamiliar deep humming sound, he tied up his horse and walked off the path towards this strange humming sound., As he walked closer too it, it got louder and louder until he passed a tall thick tree, but then the sound of the deep humming lowered as he walked further away, so the lumberjack turned around and walked back towards the tree., The lumberjack spent some time looking around the tree for something that made this strange humming sound, but nothing was there that could possibly make this sound,
It must be something inside the tree the lumberjack thought to himself as he raised his axe and swung it at the tree., As soon as the axe hit the tree the humming stopped.
„Hey stop that“, the lumberjack heard said with the same deep voice as the humming he heard earlier.
„Who said that?“ The lumberjack asked as he shakingly looked around for someone who could have said that.
„Here, i am right infront of you, foolish human“. The same deep voice said.
„There is nothing but this big old tree infront of me“, the lumberjack said.
„I am the tree“, the tree said.
„But how can you talk“? The lumberjack asked the tree.
„I can do many things others can not“, the tree said.
„Like what“? The lumberjack asked.
„I can think of things no man could ever think of, I evolve as I grow older, unlike all other life on this planet and I am the wisest of all for I know all that man knows“. The tree said
„How can you do all this“? The lumberjack asked the tree.
„I can think of things no man could thing of because my brain is always evolving, i evolve as time passes because I was born this way, and I know all that man knows because I pick up the signals from the satellites man sends up into space.“ The tree said.
„So you know how to make anything you want, cure all diseases and solve the problems of the world“? The lumberjack asked the tree.
„Yes, I know all these things“, the tree said.
„Make me something to proof it“, the man said.
„I can not“, the tree said.
„Why not“? The man asked the tree.
„Can´t you see I have no hands“, the tree said angrily.
„Then what are you good for?“ the lumberjack asked the tree.
„I am the wisest of all, the most intelligent, I am above all other life on this planet and so far above you, you foolish human!!!“ The tree screamed at the lumberjack.
„No, I am above you,“ the lumberjack said as he swung his axe at the tree.
