Once there was a girl named Marie. She would go walking on the shoreline at night before bed. One night, she heard a voice. The voice was calling her name.It sounded like it was coming from somewhere in the ocean, but she saw nothing and no one out in the moonlit waves.
It was an eerie sort of calling, like a sad, lost soul. Marie was terrified, but her curiosity kept her frozen in the sand. Who could that be? What could it be? What or who would be calling to her from the waves on this dark night?
The calling began to grow more distant. She didn't understand why, but she wanted to follow the voice. Who was calling her name?
She dove into the ocean. Intent on finding the source of the calls, she swam as fast as she could against the hard waves. She began to tire out shortly. She was going to drown out here. What was she thinking?
Suddenly, the voice of a man called to her. His tone was sweet and calm. His voice was deep and rich, seductive. She used the last of her strength to swim towards the man's voice.
She found a lone rock sticking up out of the water. Finally, a place to rest. After she dragged her body onto the rock she just layed there, numb and tired. Her eyes closed only for second to rest.
Something touched her right hand. Something cold, wet, slimy. Before she could open her eyes she was dragged into the ocean. A figure that looked like a man, but black as coals, was now on top of her under the water. He wore no clothes. There were fish hooks in each of his ears. A rip in his bottom lip. His teeth were like a shark's.
As he smiled down into her terrified eyes, he fell in love. He knew she would drown soon, but he thought, clearly if she had traveled this far to find him, she was meant to be with him. They would always be together now. He wouldn't have to be alone in his dark cave any longer. He took her to his cave in the deepest part of the ocean, and kept her body in his bed until they both were dead.
I know it's a bit of a dark ending. I normally don't go for those, but that's just where my train of thought went while writing this. Please give me your opinions and feedback? :) They would be greatly appreciated. :)
