There was this beautiful river
Floating
Lazy and wide
Like a beautiful woman
Satisfied and happy
In love

We were sitting
On its shore
Hand in hand
Head to head
Watching the sun going down

And there was this old, ancient woman
Telling a story about love and longing
About lovers searching for each other

And, oh dear!
I forgot to ask him
Was the story with a happy ending
'Cause it was too long
And we had to leave before hearing it all

To read a story
Or to listen it

I wonder
What is better

I bet it is to listen
By the loving lips told

How can I not love
The family
The people
The country
The world
Of the one
Who watches
The same flowers
Listens
The same birds
Breathes
The same air
As the man I love

A story teller
Is an ancient bard
It is the people - dweller
Of the world beloved

Its stories have gathered
All the wisdom of the world
Told in the form sheltered
About what has been observed

Oh, story teller, I read you now
For we have invented
Letters and books that allow
To keep you safe and protected
