I just wanted to introduce myself before I began posting about. I am a young recent university graduate with a full set of hair and much idle time. I have been reading these forums for quite a while, and I have learned much and have grown quite fond of this place. I chose the name De Lasalle as he is one of those men from history whose lives are too poetic to seem true, and I rather admire him.

Forgive my ignorance, but are you referring to Lasalle the French explorer?
Robert de Lasalle has a Texas connection; one of his ships, the La Belle, foundered at Matagorda Bay.

Hello and thanks for the welcome ! The name is in reference to a French general during the napoleonic wars. He served, partly, as an inspiration for the character of Andrei in War and Peace. His full name is Antoine Charles Louis de Lasalle.
