Best dictionary of literary terms and literary theory.

Hello,

I am an English major and I have, per the advice of my professors, purchased a copy of The Penguin Dictionary of Literary Terms and Literary Theory. I have found it quite useful, but there are some omissions that I find puzzling. I won't get into details, but I was wondering if there are other dictionaries of literary terms and theory that you use other than Penguin? I have seen adds for The Oxford Dictionary of Literary Terms. Have any of you used this dictionary, and if so did you find it useful and practical? As I stated before, I already have a copy of the Penguin dictionary, but I thought that maybe I could benefit from having another reference handy.

The Princetom Encyclopedia is the most rounded and has the best bibliography for poetry. For other genre I don't know.

The Penguin Dictionary of Literary Terms and Literary Theory is probably your most cost effective and comprehensive starting point. It is a very accessible introduction to literary terminology regarding form and theory. You can get it from Amazon for a few dollars (US).

If you're just looking for a backup, then you might search on google. you probably will get more results than you want, but it might lead you to a good second source.
