I saw the announcement for this essay contest (http://grammar.about.com/b/2014/02/11/the-world-wide-waldens-essay-contest-live-deliberately.htm?nl=1) on Richard Nordquist's Grammar and Composition website.
Alas, yours fooly cannot enter the competition as I am not in the age group (Ahem.) But if any LitNutters within the ages of 13-21 might want to look into it. It's an intriguing topic -- a passage from Walden. Best of all, there is no entry fee.
