Help with a story from my childhood

Hello everyone,

Well... ok this is how it goes. Long ago when I was a child I used to visit my grandmother every weekend and spend the night there. She would tell me every sort of story from memory, really special time for me :-)

So for the last year or so 8ui dont know why), Ive been recalling one specific story, but only parts of it, you know.

I want to know the name and author of the story so I can read it, to kindda I dont know, to feel that moment again. So if anyone can help me out, please do!

Ok as far as I can remember this was the story of a poor kid that grows to become a great and famous juggler or magician. He becomes rich, but one day he sets to buy a giant pearl, like a baseball size (ok maybe not, but that was what I was told) so he sells everything and all his fourtune to get the pearl.

Finally one day he is in a ship with his show juggling the pearl when suddenly something happens and the ship, he looses his balance and drops the pearl into the sea.

I dont have anything more about this story, so please if you know what Im talking about, please help me!
