I've got a rather sketchy memory of a book I read back in secondary school that has been irritating me for a while. I've tried all sorts of googling but can't track it down! Sorry for the probably-quite-irritating post, but if things rings any bells with anyone you'd be saving me from a lifetime of frustration!
The novel definitely involved plastic explosives, and reference to a smell of marzipan linked to said explosives. I can't remember if the protagonist was male or female, but they were young-ish and were somehow involved with these (delicious smelling) plastic explosives. I have a weird feeling that a wolf comes into the story somewhere (I did wonder if it was a Virginia Woolf novel but I don't think so!). Anyway, that's not much, but if that sounds even a bit familiar, please let me know!
