I often think literature must be melding. That is, we have quick-fixes and fetishes with the old, the approved and the critically recommended and accepted. Literature does and must indeed entertain us and some of us want more from it and must have a say from the destitute and the marginalized. The 1 % 99 % buzz is not going to be hushed and quieted soon on Wall Street soon. The fortunate few depleting the world of its scarce and vital resources has of late been the voice of the many. Literature cannot be deaf and mute when society is mutating and new realisms are popping up. It has a voice for the social and cultural maladies in today’s and earlier literary subjects. Why not to incorporate economic issues that is jeopardizing livelihoods, health conditions and habitats of millions and gradually more billions globally.
