A story as an idiom
You are like Abu Ali
Abu Ali and Um Ali is a family lived in Basra.
Abu Ali has a sister was married to someone living not far away from Ali region.
Ali often would visit his sister to ask about her condition but rarely did he take to her and her children something to eat or any stuff else, but often would say:
If only I remembered and went to the market to buy something for those innocent children.
The sister would politely reply:
No, brother, don’t take pains to yourself too much, we are wealthy, although she really knows that they are in severe poverty.
Abu Ali would again say:
If only our new cow, we recently bought, giving milk or our hens had laid eggs then I brought you some of milks and a full basket of eggs.
The sister surely knew the fact of her worldly greedy brother, but she would deeply keep her sorrow.
When the matter is a like so to anyone, often they would say:
"You are like Abu Ali"
