Whither our writing style is going

Today we are experimenting with writing. At one end we are too much obsessed with literary opulence and at the other end we are trying to commercialize or sell what we produce. And whatever end we are at all we want is name, fame and money and these things if go together to our choice we will feel gratified and this is the be all and end all of what we do or if this is not the case with all who choose a writing career I apologize to them. This is what I think and not necessarily what really is.

All or at least most writing is done to accomplish a purpose, be it persuasive, dialectic, informative, or entertainment. If a certain kind of writing is popular, it's because it accomplishes its purpose in a given audience with some degree of success. At least that's my quick thoughts on the matter.

Not sure what literary "opulence" refers to and for that matter whom you mean by "we."
