You who always remind me
About the luminous pearls
Every time I stare, I blink;
About the flirting of my lids
Uncovering the amber moons;
About the word my eyes imply
That only yours can define;

And you who prove to me
That the warmest of my skin
To your coldest finger swirls;
That I can also hear silence,
Its echoing noise, its flutters;
That my impatient ears exist
For your hushed intentions;

And you who fully describe
The smell of fruits, of season,
The scent of air in my nostrils;
Who explore the curving slope
Of my nose sniffing your chin;
Who count my rapid breaths
And feel my erratic breathing;

And you who uncurl my lips
As if you want me to speak
And exhale my joy then quiver;
As if my playful tongue knows
Your pauses, your silent syllables;
As if everything is for my tasting
And for me to bite and swallow;

You, all of you, tell me tonight
How you will plead for my eyes,
How you will convince my ears,
How you will excite my nosy nose,
How you will tease my gullible lips
When my face is a smiling map
Of undivided, owned territories.

I like 'you' poems. This one seems to finger a whole group who have assummed exclusivity to the writers heart and senses.

Yep, they are competing for the fifth sense--touch from hands, arms, body, skin. Thanks for reading. It's still a work in progress.

The repeated phrases --I think the term is "anaphora"--really work in this piece. They contribute to the form as well as being pleasing to the ear.

I always read your "stuff," even if I don't always leave a comment. In general, though, I would say that the quality of your work keeps improving with each posting.
