Through death not life
I had been taken by a light,
one like a ballad in the sky
that I had never seen,
but taken to like
as if a sweet dream,
and I was the knight
carrying the torch
smitten with delight.

For the arch of her beauty
lit up the blight of the night,
and I was carried on her words,
which sifted in my ears until it found a string.
There it would strum on my depths
where heavy breath goes to sleep -
stirs with the ocean until inside the sound of a dream;
like of a seashell that speaks of early epochs
and the certainty of lovers by the sea;
as I am sure of we
in this bottomless time,
where there's no abyss for the fallen,
only angels that come calling.
And this they said to me...

"Love her this Christina with all your flight and be
her armor, and her light will shine on thee.
For I have loosened an orb, a certain crystal from air,
and gave it my blessing; as you and her will ever be there,
in the triumph of deep love; whether in life or through death, the later
shall not take her from you; her voice will come calling, and you will
hear her like the dark hears the stars as they glitter; and about the sky
you will lie in a deep euphony of eternity, as it was and always will be
you and Christina forever."

I can take "a ballad in the sky", but "the dark of the night" kills it. I stopped right there.

I'm going to work on it some more. Yeah I hate it too, it's kind of a rough fill-in line. Like I was saying: Cliché ridden. Thanks miyako.
