For any esteemed members that might be unaware, a very funny and spot on podcast about Classic Lit. entitled "Thug Notes," book reviews from the gangster point of view. Hope this makes you laugh as much as I did. :rofl:

Just watched the Notes From Underground podcast, and having recently read it, I must concur that this player's commentary is spot-on.

I think the difference is that gangster refers to a member of a group, while a thug is an individual. Thug can also be used as an adjective, however; for example, a thuggish gangster is the opposite of a sophisticated one.

I have fallen in love with 'Thug Notes'. I already knew a lot of this stuff, but I have been recommending it to my not-very-literary friends because it's really concise, well written, and really quite funny. That guy can consider me a fan.

I think Thug Notes is a great idea for people who don't understand a text and want to take a more light-hearted approach.
