Although i can see where many of you are coming from in your statements that Macbeth is Evil, i can not justify it to myself. Macbeth, was a good man at the beggining of the book, he wanted nothing more than to serve his king honorably and recieve the recognition for the work that he did. However, like all of us, Macbeth had ambition, he had a desire to succede and do well. If anyone out there can honestly say that if a "heavenly," or "extra worldly" herald appeared and promised, wealth, power, and land untold, would not only want to believe him, but wait for the day it would come. Macbeth, may have taken the ambition too far, but it was most definately the witches that started the entire plot. I can most assuredly promise you that if Macbeth had not been promised kingship, he never would have sought after it.
