After studying and viewing multiple Shakespeare plays as a component of my drama course, the majority of my class agreed that yes, he may be a master playwrite or something of the like, but that doesn't mean we enjoyed the plays. perhaps they are past their prime, or just too overdone. It's like "it was a dark and stormy night" - orignally that was a fantastic line, as shown by the hoards who copied it into the openings of their books after it was published. Now, it is over-used and seen as a bit of a joke, and though i don't believe that Shakespeare will ever become a joke, and though he isn't recieving any less recognition for his brilliance, his plays are reciving less rapture and appreciation. More and more people around the world are now coming out and admitting that they do not truely enjoy Shakespeare's plays, and if they must view them it is more for obligation that pleasure.
