In my opinion 1984 is a book for people who are really into politics and history. I think 1984 is for the most part boring. I do admit that there is some parts in the book that is pretty funny and some parts there is somewhat action in it but mostly I think its just boring. As far as making this a high school assignment book, I'll say no to that. I think kids can benefit from reading all the extensive vocabulary but I think they'll be bored out there mind. Although its the teacher's decision its not like the students can say no but still i don't think many students would actually be interested in the book. I think the book just lacks emotion and there seems to be no goal that can be achieved but i think it is more of a message to people I guess. I honestly believe that this book wasn't made for entertainment purposes at all, I think it was just a whole bunch of symbolism and warnings of what the world is going to become.

I agree. 1984 is an interesting book but overall a hard read. It's difficult to stay focused on the book. The ideas and theories behind take time to understand and it gets boring after awhile. I wouldn't reccomend the book to people but I do say it should still be taught. Being in an honors class I understand why we read the book but even so it was still a big jmbled mess. If this book were to be no longer taught it could slowly vanish. I would not read the book again just simply because it takes to long to understand and comprehend. All in all atleast i can say i've read 1984.

You'd be dead right, and Orwell would definitely have agreed with you.
