I liked 1984 because it was written about a very good topic. There was a lot of symbolism in 1984, like how the paperweight in the antique shop symbolized the past and innocence. Also, Orwell stated that we are "unable to destroy one another" and I think that is very true. When Winston was in the cell, there were many men who were terrified of going to Room 101 and one man even said they could kill his family in front of him, and I think that shows how in our society most people are willing to do anything to escape their fears or escape pain. Orwell shows how we are willing to have someone else be in pain if we can escape it, like how when Winston was in Room 101 he begged them not to put the rat cage on him and even told them to do it to Julia instead. I think Orwell makes an excellent point with that.
