Who wears glasses?
I lost mine on Friday. I was four hours from home so I had to wear my awful prescription safety glasses home. Which look like these:
9191
I've been wearing my old glasses since I got home and everything seems "off". I was shopping for dining room chairs today and I saw one from an angle and I thought it was so cool because it was asymmetrical. I took a closer look and the chair wasn't asymmetrical, it just happened to be the angle and my glasses. hahahaahahahhaha

I do! Though I go through phases where I either wear glasses all the time, or contacts all the time.
I can't really see past about 6 inches away from my face, so if I was ever glasses-less, I wouldn't be going anywhere haha.
Yesterday was almost one of those days. I was wearing contacts at work, when a needle shot off its syringe and exploded Euthanyl all over the place, but mostly in my eyes. Euthanyl is the drug we use to euthanize pets... My boss wanted me to take my contacts out so I could flush my eyes properly, but I didn't have a case or solution or glasses. So I left them in so I could drive home. Boss lady was not impressed. Safety glasses would have been good in that situation, Papaya hahaha

I do too!
My eyesight started to deteriorate when I was about 21 and I worked at a computer all the time.
Since our translation career took off two years ago, it's deteriorated more. I urgently have to go to the eye doctor, but I always postpone... I just need advice about how to keep it manageable (I don't want to end up with jam jars, you see), although I gather it's just a case of waiting for stabilisation. I can't see sharp past 1 inch (although it depends on the light).
I can imagine your boss wasn't impressed, Charm, but would she have driven you home herself, in that case?

I wear glasses only for reading so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I've been wearing them for the past four years and I'm still not used to it. When I'm reading a book I hardly notice that they are on my nose, but today for instance my son rang up from work needing a phone number urgently, and by the time I found the number, then found my glasses (I have two pairs, but still had to search) etc, I was really wishing I had my 20/20 vision again.

I do as well!
Horrible things, but without them I bump into walls...

Haha, try playing billiards with them.
I didn't realise until a few months after I had them that when playing billiards, you use the upper most section of your eyes and that's looking over your glasses for all intents and purposes. Hence why the funny-looking Dennis Taylor had those glasses that made him look like he was permanently astonished. If we go and play pool, I use a piece of blue plasticine to prop my glasses up now, which makes me look less ridiculous than the piece of tissue I used to use, but nonetheless makes people ask why I'm doing that. Because I can't see the contours of the ball on the other end of the table! What do you think!?

ooh my. Contacts aren't allowed at my work. It was always believed that contacts could trap chemicals against your eye and cause more damage but studies show that that might not be the case however nobody is ready to relax the rule yet.
I have to wait until Monday to get my new glasses, until then I guess I'll continue to see things a little off.

Maybe not trap as such, but glasses (certainly modern ones with plastic lenses) form an extra barrier against accidents. I personally enjoy walking in the wind and rain a lot more since I've had them. You don't get everything in your eyes like other people. Particularly cycling in the rain is a lot easier :D.

I HATE glasses in the rain and wind because they got water drops and dust and whatnot on them. Then you need windshield wipers. Ugh.

Agreed. There's nothing more irritating than dirty glasses, and getting them clean without having smear marks is incredibly frustrating.

Another glasses-wearer here :) My eyesights not actually dreadful without them, but it would make things inconvenient if I were to lose them.
I agree with Loka and CC, glasses + rain = dreadful! D:

I'm legally required to wear glasses when I drive, but that is the only time I bother wearing them. And since I don't have to drive very often, they aren't a problem. Watching movies seem just as entertaining with or without glasses.

Rain on my glasses in a pain, but it's still better than rain in my eyes. What I hate is when I walk into a warm place from a cold outside and have to wait for the glasses to defog. They're still less hassle than contacts, though.

I started wearing glasses when I was almost 18 and now I’ve become used to them. My near vision is still perfect though. I am very always choosy while buying new ones; I never liked thick plastic frames.

Haha I went on a walk yesterday and the snow kept sticking on my glasses. Which was fine until I turned around and the wind blew my breath back into my face melting the snow, then freezing. TL;DR Super Cool Foggy Ice Glasses

I have to wear glasses when reading or working on the computer. Really when I am doing anything that requires me to coordinate my two hands, since I lack depth perception in one eye without glasses. But I don't need to wear them to drive.
Keeping them clean is a huge pet-peeve of mine. I hate dirty glasses and the smear drives me batty. Glasses are a necessary if you can't wear contacts.

I bet that was interesting .

I guess I'm like my father in that respect: sometimes, looking at my glasses at the end of the day, how dirty they actually are. Only hairs I can't have. Apparently, before his marriage, my father's mother used to clean his glasses, because he rarely did, and according to my mother she kept marvelling at how he could still see through them... I do'nt get bothered by dust on them, hence why I don't get upset with rain or dust on them. Let the rain dry and it's gone...

I wear glasses too for distance vision. My unaided focal point is about 12 cm from my face.

As a teenager I'd wish I needed glasses, never did though. My son has the same wish now and he wears fake glasses at times, I call that artificial intelligence.

Why on earth would you WANT to need glasses... Nothing but an inconvnience...

I'm "far sighted" as the result of an astigmatism. I can see quite fine for most day to day activities when looking at a distance... but for reading and the computer I need glasses. With time my eye doctor has put me on bifocals as one eye is stronger than the other (20/20) even for distance vision... but quite honestly I tend to only wear them when reading, on the computer, or doing close detailed work on my paintings.

as a teenager I thought it made me look older, I have always looked a lot younger than I am and it always annoyed me when people thought I was my friends younger sister. I am not saying I want them now. My son he just wants to look like Clark Kent.

Well, I mean the nerd glasses (those with the thick frame and round lenses in them) are fashionable, aren't they? They don't suit everyone, but I'm sure there are some people who'd want to wear them.
Artificial intelligence! :)

I've got a friend (with perfect eyesight) who has recently taken to wearing a pair of frames with nothing in them. Big, round and thick they are too. Quite why she's doing it, I've no idea - except that it must be some kind of bizarre fashion statement. Perhaps Helga's theory of 'artifcial intelligence' is pretty much on the mark!

Glasses look cute. My guy has to have glasses. I wouldn't like to have to wear one for myself though. I know double standards. However I don't understand how I can still have perfect eye-sight when I am doing everything which people would do when they want to ruin theirs.

When I was young, I made the horrible mistake of thinking glasses were super cool, so I faked my eye exam. I still wonder how much better my eyesight would be if I never did that. Now I usually just wear contacts, but I pull the glasses out when I'm too lazy to stick my finger in my eyes.

Wowzers, faithosaurus.
I wear glasses. I have a friend who got laser surgery. Then I was afraid I'd look like a copy cat if I did the same. Grrr. Although knowing they're shaving off part of your cornea is kind of off-putting.
I've had the pair I'm wearing for about ten years. They are smudged and need to be adjusted. I think I'm ready for a new pair.

I wear glasses for Astigmatism. I keep a pair in the office which make me look awful, for some reason I think they make me look like a pretentious moron. They cost a fortune and I sat on them after only 2 days. I refuse to spend large sums on glasses now and keep my best pair as far away from chairs as possible

I agree, I hate it when my glasses have raindrops on them. Fortunately, I can take them off and go without them, but it's inconvenient as my vision is blurred.

When I went to the opticians in 2000 ... or it might have been 2001... the nice lady told me I had an astigmatism and would benefit from prescription glasses as one eye is worse than the other.
I forgot to get them, lost the prescription and couldn't be bothered as it's distance rather than close up that is affected. So reading and work wasn't affected, though occasionally I can't see the number on a distant bus, and I often cant make people who speak to me from across the street.
I'm not sure I've got much worse. I did discover a pair recently that improved my vision - they were handed in to the allotment shop where I volunteer, and they are still there. I could use those, though the lenses are oval and I'd prefer circles like John Lennon.
So to answer the question - I could, but I'm not at the moment.

I've worn glasses since around 13 to 14 years old and about 5 years later I think they've gotten better. I'm pretty sure my left eye grade, which is always the higher one, reached 4.25 or maybe even 4.75, but never a 5. Now the left is 3.50 and the right is 2.75. I wear contact lenses sometimes because my parents subscribe to the belief that glasses make girls look old and ugly, and though I do wear contacts when they seem more convenient (PE, swimming, hot days, etc) I still prefer wearing glasses.
