The bird in the forest?

When Winston and Julia are in the forest, they see a bird which begins to sing loudly when it sees them. Julia also mentions that there is no microphones in the area. Perhaps some birds have been trained by the Party to sing when they see someone where they don't belong. Then the far away microphones would pick up the birds' songs. Is that a possibility or am I reading into things too much?

They didn't really need to know what was being said, because the Thought Police would have known W & J had "gone bush" which is thoughtcrime itself.
