9:30 and
is there someone on Facebook please
to say hello good morning how are you
and no one mails me on Hotmail
on Gmail no one plusses on Google
and people tweet but not
to me and it's 9:40 and
still no one who Likes me
so I turn to my blog and
write a desperate post
an empty post that
no one will comment on and
it's 9:45 so I scribble
a little something on the LitNet Forum
where no one knows I'm there
no one says anything
good job bad job read more poems
nothing and I turn back
to my Facebook profile page
no one follows and it's 9:50
and I know I know and
it hurts but I know that
there's still a whole big awful
day to fill

The lonely scrivener writes, then reads, then writes some more! If our electronic pulse is not throbbing, then we are fretting! Thanks for sharing your mundane angst with us, Dieter. I always enjoy reading your poems.

I can almost see your clenched fists in this one Dieter!

Thanks everyone for commenting; I guess I left out a few ones, too (checking the mobile for text messages, checking KDP or Smashwords for sales, etc.). And right on for the clenched fists, Delta; there are days like that when you have that feeling that nothing is worth breathing, where you're waiting for "more" without knowing what that could be.

Sad commentary there Dieter, where we go online and stop interacting in the real work. When we don't get a response instantaneously, we feel abandoned. In the spirit of the message, I "like" the poem, FB style.
