Hey Guys,
I am a foreigner and I have got lots of difficulties when doing the interpretation of this poem.
-IS THERE A LESS OBVIOUS MEANING THEN JUST THAT OF THE MEMORY OF AN IGUANA?
-HOW IS THE METER OF EACH LINE?
-WHERE ARE THERE ASSONANCES, ALLITERATIONS, ENJAMBMENTS, METHAPORS,... AND WHY?
Saw an iguana once
when I was very small
came rustling across my path
in our backdam backyard
green like moving newleaf sunlight
big like big big lizard
with more legs than centipede
so it seems to me
eyes meeting mine
and it must have stopped a while
iguana and child locked in a brief
split moment happening
before it went hurrying
for the green of its life
