What the Hell do you write for anyway?

Some write to purely entertain, some write to work out personal problems and insights, still others to reweave the world's fabric.

I write to spite an indifferent universe.

I write because I can and I also write because language requires it. the more one writes and the more thoughts are formulated.

If imagination is an essential part of your persona.
If you have the basic appetites of a man or woman, and the inclusive faults that lie therein.
If you are fascinated by the enormity of a spiritual life, as yet but lightly touched.
If you can walk with kings, yet not lose the common touch.
If you can love and be loved by women that compliment your very existence.
If you appreciate the newness of everything daily.
If you spend a lifetime reading and reflecting.
If words are like the finest wines to be tasted.
If the infinite combination of these words can produce something uniquely your own.
Then you write.

Fine, but I would take away uniquely from the last one. It is impossible. You wouldn't be able to have it read if it were true. Have fun.

Add in your contribution of keeping us all on track regards; the ground rules of grammar and and an honest assessment of our threads and it makes you top shelf.

If you were British, you would just stay calm and keep going. I'm not acquainted with the American equivalent.

There have been many occasions when I have chortled and guffawed while reading your pieces, and once even mentioned your wit would be appreciated at any and all cocktail parties.
