Now pics of some stranger
looking duck mouthed on facebook
when once you and and I played statues
outside of Myers
while a lone busker sang
the times they are a changing.

Coz my eggs weren't thinking then
and your sap was energized,
loaded like the full sugar cola
and salty fries
I sucked on
as buses passed us by.

F ucking warm in the wintry tunnel
of the station
before we were dragged
kicking, screaming
into a glaring world of lights and bills.

We nursed it and hoped
that one day it would post
nice things and a funny face
instead of the obvious space
that whistles down the deserted
alley of our hearts
reminding us of the difference
between then and now.

Nostalgia, as they say, ain't what it used to be. Your final stanza ("strophe") is the soul of this piece,Delta.
