An unfortunate truth
Favours a coveted elite;
Who, unfettered in youth -
Turn heads on the street.
The world is their oyster,
Their wish it's command;
Those with the currency
Of most value to man.

Beauty.

Truthfully, without finances -
Or so much as bread -
For those who steal our glances;
Hope is not dead.
Without great wit, persona or mind;
The aid of good looks -
Casts one a lifeline.

Whether it's right, people can debate -
That beauty, great Beauty,*
Should secure any fate;
Though thoughts and the physical,
Like water and air;
Though of use, one invisible -
The other's indulgence all can share.

I'll assume that the unfortunate truth should actually be the truth of the unfortunate. L6 needs Its instead of It's.
This is a very good poem. Indeed a lifeline with the eternal taste of life and flavor of death. This is what some people could have meant when they said that beauty could save the world.
