As the midnight oil burns,
a pale reflection of a mind on fire,
poring over symbols and formulae,
The fire mirrored in desire
The platonic space of "ideal" shapes
Imbued with bone, flesh, sinew and blood
each cell depicting the immortal story
of the development of the consciousness,
rather of the network of "consciousnesses"

At last, the "center of gravity" nay more than that,
the axes of meaning of the whole structure emerges
As if the symbolic "light" of consciousness were diffracted
Through the Cantor like lattice of letters / symbols and shapes
Into the rich colorful universe of meaning and life
adding another weave to the rich texture
protein like folding proteanly to create a beginning,
A universe emerging big bang like from the strings of words, formulae ..

Each individual , each unique perspective
a world nay universe in themselves
and yet "a patch" in the overall manifold,
the emergent supreme consciousness
butterly beetle , spider like
relativistically crossing the "islands"
of the gardens of consciousness
traversing the infinite chasm and
bridging eternity many times over

And lo and behold,
Like fabled mighty cities
Built by a race of intelligent ants,
Like in Indra's "net of pearls",
In the back and forth between "intelligent " mirrors,
consciousness emerges both collectively and individually,
From the manifold of interpolations and inversions
Rendering things resplendent in their beauty and meaningfulness
Like light passing holographically through a tear drop
And "Insane etc" becomes meaningless , nay a NULL SET

"Nothing can be whole again that has not been once "rent" (Torn / broken) - William Butler Yeats

"To see a world in a grain of sand
And Heaven in a wild flower
To hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour"
- william Blake

I just realized that the first word "As" is redundant. So submitting the poem again :

The Mind's "I"

The midnight oil burns,
a pale reflection of a mind on fire,
poring over symbols and formulae,
The fire mirrored in desire
The platonic space of "ideal" shapes
Imbued with bone, flesh, sinew and blood
each cell depicting the immortal story
of the development of the consciousness,
rather of the network of "consciousnesses"

At last, the "center of gravity" nay more than that,
the axes of meaning of the whole structure emerges
As if the symbolic "light" of consciousness were diffracted
Through the Cantor like lattice of letters / symbols and shapes
Into the rich colorful universe of meaning and life
adding another weave to the rich texture
protein like folding proteanly to create a beginning,
A universe emerging big bang like from the strings of words, formulae ..

Each individual , each unique perspective
a world nay universe in themselves
and yet "a patch" in the overall manifold,
the emergent supreme consciousness
butterly beetle , spider like
relativistically crossing the "islands"
of the gardens of consciousness

On reflection, the poem does seem to have overlapping themes in common with one of my first poems called "Words" which was part of one of my first posts entitled "Collection" containing a collection of poems
