I am reading 'The Prophet' by Khalil Gibran and the book (Jaico Publications) contained many illustrations by the author himself. But all those pictures contained naked men and women standing in different postures. I've to admit that when I hold that book reading and if others take a glance at it, I am worried they might get me wrong for a reading an ancient sex culture book. The pictures are like that. Sorry about that, but I didn't find any connection to the content written in the book with those pictures. Is there something I'm missing here or did it felt the same for everybody out there?

interesting. I would not worry what would other think. if the publisher thought it was worthy of publication with pictures of such then access to it is made public regardless.
content and pictures is perhaps to provoke. The title 'the prophet' and the visuals are obviously not in accordance and so maybe meant to provoke the reader/population who knows.
about 'ancient sex culture' I think one thing comes to mind is this: if there is one thing that is never ancient and that is sex. it is and has been the same since the beginning to time. :)
