The genius lurks in the shadows
where dreams merge with reality.
Testing himself in every way,
everyday rings the bell to begin the trial.
It isn't until he lets himself go
that he can live and learn to love.
By killing poetry the poet is born.
Then his art seeps into all aspects of life
and he becomes complete where he was once broken.
Never again need a poem be written because,
he has accomplished the ultimate task.
Every street he walks down, every mountain he stands beneath
is a poem, to him, all eyes tell a story.

These lines made me chuckle
Testing himself in every way,
everyday rings the bell to begin the trial.: A quest through self-imposed Pavlovian trial ?

By killing poetry the poet is born. - I find some truth in this. One must write poetry to become a poet after all; but woe to the reader who seeks the gem amongst the rough.

Then his art seeps into all aspects of life
and he becomes complete where he was once broken.
Never again need a poem be written because,
he has accomplished the ultimate task.
Every street he walks down, every mountain he stands beneath
is a poem, to him, all eyes tell a story. - Quite Zen if I'm reading this correctly.

Enjoyed the poem; a true gem.
