here is an article about this topic that poets may find interesting:
http://bostonreview.net/poetry/against-conceptualism
at which stage does the poet becomes the idea rather then the concept ?
is the concept the rhythm of words or are the emotions the plastic that wraps them?
I admit I am more of a concept writer/poet and that is because I feel emotions/ feelings are to be spoken for rather then lamented.
emotional poetry does not entice me for the simple reason that I consider feelings to be aired and talked about openly whenever the opportunity arises. concepts are trickier and are only easier to manage sensically with words. that is because aesthetically words have the effect of visual stimulation that encourages thoughts and expressions to formate in writing.
I think better conceptually when I use words ie write. I am better at emotions when I talk about them. that is because they are easy to manage when shared with listening and face to face expressions.
anyway
feel free to read and comment as I am still trying to get my head around this long and elaborate article still......:)
