Aphorism #157 Do not make Mistakes about Character.

That is the worst and yet easiest error. Better be cheated in the price than in the quality of goods. In dealing with men, more than with other things, it is necessary to look within. To know men is different from knowing things. It is profound philosophy to sound the depths of feeling and distinguish traits of character. Men must be studied as deeply as books. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=yIl2AUoC8zA (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=hlFtgws_dkM:V8TzY0sRl9A:yIl2A UoC8zA) http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=qj6IDK7rITs (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=hlFtgws_dkM:V8TzY0sRl9A:qj6ID K7rITs)

This is a difficult one no matter how much wisdom you might wish to put into it. Affordability has nothing to do with the quality of goods. But those who can afford it get more chances to err.
Books are easy compared to men. A book can't have more depth than what's actually said. That's also true for men, But books are cast and cannot change except through new editions. And even when men can be treated as books, and answers can be given to their present in the same manner as one would deal with a book, the present of men is gone tomorrow as soon as it comes.
